BUBBLE GROTTO: Dragon Pop is a free retro arcade platformer that plays right in your browser and on your phone. No download, no install: press any key or tap the screen and you are in.                                                                                                            

You are a little green dragon, and the caves are full of monsters. Shoot bubbles to trap them, touch the bubbles to pop them, and grab the fruit they drop. Clear every monster to move on to the next cave. Simple to learn, hard to put down, and built in the spirit of the 8-bit and 16-bit arcade classics on the C64, C128 and Amiga 1200.

## Features

- 30 levels, each with its own layout. Symmetrical caves early on, with extra pillars and obstacles from level 11 onwards.

- 3 difficulty modes: Easy (5 lives), Normal (3 lives) and Hard (2 lives, faster and more monsters).

- Pixel art with particle effects: bubbles burst into sparkles, fruit glitters, and a light CRT scanline look gives it that old-monitor feel.

- A new color look for every level, inspired by Fujifilm film simulations: Velvia, Provia, Astia, Classic Chrome, Classic Neg., Acros (black and white), Eterna, Nostalgic Neg., Pro Neg. Hi, Sepia and Reala Ace. The name of the current look shows when each level starts.

- A C64-style SID chiptune soundtrack with a driving triangle bass, a fast pulse arpeggio and a catchy lead melody. The music changes key from level to level.

- Retro sound effects for shooting, jumping, trapping, popping and collecting.

- Plays on desktop and mobile. Keyboard on desktop, on-screen touch buttons on your phone.

- Local high score, so you can always try to beat your best.

## How to play

Move around the caves, jump between the platforms and shoot bubbles at the monsters. A monster inside a bubble is helpless. Touch the bubble to pop it and the monster turns into fruit worth bonus points. Collect the fruit before it disappears.

Be quick! A monster that stays trapped for too long breaks free, turns angry (orange) and moves faster. Touching a free monster costs you a life. After a hit you get a short moment of protection while the dragon flashes.

Tips:

- Platforms are one-way. You can jump up through them and land on top.

- Trap several monsters before popping them. Popped monsters give 500 points, plus the fruit.

- Trapped bubbles float upward, so pop them before they drift away or the monster escapes.

- On Hard, keep moving. Angry monsters are fast.

- Choose difficulty on the title screen: 1 = Easy, 2 = Normal, 3 = Hard

- Start: press any key

- Use the on-screen buttons: left, right, jump and bubble

- Start: tap anywhere. Tap EASY, NORMAL or HARD on the title screen to choose your difficulty.

The art is drawn pixel by pixel, the sound is generated live in your browser, and every level is built to be quick to read and fun to replay.
